Drake Mouthpieces Boney James Masters Series for Tenor Saxophones

This mouthpiece is the result of yet another winning collaboration between Aaron Drake and the world's top professional saxophone players. Boney originally contacted Aaron to request several Drake mouthpieces to try. Over time, the dialog between them grew into a custom mouthpiece project. Boney was seeking a mouthpiece that would combine the warmth and control associated with the best ebonite mouthpieces, with power and projection like a metal version. The Boney James Masters Series delivered exactly that. This mouthpiece incorporates a step baffle, a rounded baffle transition and a special reverse taper in the chamber. It allows the player a tremendous amount of projection and expressiveness while stabilizing the pitch. The unique, proprietary mouthpiece material is an industry first - incorporating ceramic with resin to achieve new levels of resonance.

The Boney James is available for Tenor, in the following tip openings: 7*(.107"), 8 (.112"), 8* (.117"), and 9 (.122")

Drake Mouthpieces presents the "Son of Slant" - a new true large chamber mouthpiece for Soprano. This design was inspired by fine examples of the legendary Otto Link Slant model, which has enjoyed immense popularity for decades. Drake has contributed thoughtful design innovations, to aid stability and pitch, while offering greater projection. The Son of Slant incorporates a raised and extended floor slope, perfectly defined, under-cut side walls, a large chamber - larger than the shank diameter - and a meticulously contoured roll-over baffle. The result is a Soprano Saxophone mouthpiece with an astonishingly warm, deep voice, a broader dynamic range and full freedom of expression for the player.
