Matt Vashlishan

“Simply put, these mouthpieces are incredible. The ceramic gives these mouthpieces very complex and interesting tone colors as well as a great sense of projection. Combine that with Aaron’s deep understanding about mouthpiece mechanics and extraordinary workmanship and the result is one of the best mouthpieces I have ever played!”. Vladimir Karparov

Vladimir Karparov was born in 1977 and grew up in Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia; he discovered music at an early age and already began playing the saxophone as a child. He studied at the “The National Academy of Music” in Sofia from 1995 to 1999, with jazz and popular music as his main areas of concentration. He quickly realized that his fascination gravitated more towards jazz; to deepen his knowledge in this area, he applied for an “Oscar und Vera Ritter-Stiftung“ scholarship to Hamburg’s Hochschule für Musik und Theater (HfMT), with success. Yet the longer Vladimir Karparov lived away from his home country, the more intensively he began investigating Bulgarian folk music, which gradually became an essential and irrevocable component of his music. AKA La Darrel Johnson

”I’m performing on the Drake Contemporary Alto Sax mouthpiece. This mouthpiece is by far THEE BEST mouthpiece I’ve ever experienced! The reaction of the mouthpiece is solid, very solid! It does not in any way, shape, or form, hold you back as a player. Never have I felt a hard rubber mouthpiece cut through sound like this! Aaron Drake is on to something good with this design! When I first experienced this, I was blown away. I could definitely tell hard work & dedication was put into this mouthpiece. After speaking with Aaron Drake, I knew then that they were indeed. Each mouthpiece is personally handcrafted by him, & the dedication that he has put into each mouthpiece shows. I’m very excited about being a part of the Drake family! Learn more at Saxappeal’s Site
