This is a recording of Aaron Drake playing on his custom JTB 7& Ceramic Tenor Mouthpiece.

Truly Handcrafted Mouthpieces.

Aaron developed his skills crafting saxophone mouthpieces with one of the most difficult materials to master – ceramics.

The resonance qualities of porcelain made this pursuit worth the labor, but the process demands a precise approach to craft.

Anyone who has worked with clay before knows that it shrinks when it dries, can warp or distort through the glazing and firing sequence, and the entire process requires diligence and patience.

This video from 2009 represents some of the very early Ceramic models made by Aaron and Drake Mouthpieces over 12 years ago.
